Cookie Policy
Alluvial | Effective date: 10 October 2026
This Cookie Policy explains the cookies and local storage used on the Alluvial marketing website and portal. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
Essential storage
We use storage that is necessary to provide the website and portal, keep them secure, remember service settings, and support sign-in. These technologies do not require analytics consent where they are strictly necessary for a service you request.
Analytics storage
We use PostHog EU Cloud for product analytics only after you accept analytics in the cookie controls. We do not use session replay, session recording, autocapture, or heatmaps. Analytics collection does not record manuscript text, filenames, submission identifiers, findings, scores, reports, or other manuscript-derived records.
The consent choice is stored in the alluvial.analytics-consent cookie for 180 days on the .alluvial.ac domain, with Secure and SameSite=Lax attributes. Its value records whether you accepted or rejected analytics; after it expires or is absent, we ask for your choice again. If you reject or withdraw consent, browser analytics stops and the analytics SDK state is reset.
After consent, the PostHog SDK may store its pseudonymous identifier and configuration in origin-specific local storage and in the alluvial_posthog_v1 cookie. The cookie is shared across Alluvial subdomains; local storage stays separate for each site origin. Both use a 180-day expiration. We use pseudonymous identifiers and do not place your name, email address, manuscript data, or Stripe payment details in browser analytics storage.
Changing your choice
You can change or withdraw your analytics choice at any time using the cookie controls available on Alluvial. You can also delete cookies and local storage through your browser. Deleting the consent cookie means we will ask again the next time you visit.
